Mars & the Moon Internet Legend

Posted by: kelgarneal | August 25, 2007 | 2 Comments |

On Friday, an e-mail was sent out from one of our 6th grade teachers talking about Mars looking like the moon this Sunday night.  I decided to go to NASA’s site to make sure the information was accurate before all of you decide to stay up late Sunday night.  What I found out is this:  It actually occurred on Aug. 27, 2003.  So, this e-mail information about Mars has been going around the internet in e-mails for the last 4 years.  It is now classified as an urban legend or a story that was maybe once true or partially true, but has now been told so many times or e-mailed so many times that people come to believe it.  Guess it goes to show that we should not believe everything that is sent to us or posted on the internet.  Do any of you know any good urban legends you want to share?  I know cheyanna, Tanner, Kadie and I talked about them last year in class.  I will try to get the urband legend book on Monday, and we can share some, and then, you can share your own here.  So, parents, Mrs. Neal says to SEND THEM TO BED on Sunday night!  See you all Monday!
